Getting Rid of Blemishes (Tips and Advice)

etting rid of blemishes is something that many teens and young men and women are very concerned about. It’s not just kids hitting puberty and teenagers. People in their 30s, 40s and beyond can be plagued with acne, particularly if they suffered through their teen years with frequent or severe breakouts. What exactly are blemishes? Also known as pimples, pustules, comedones and zits, blemishes are clogged pores that result in a red, swollen, possible pus-filled sore. The clogged pore isn’t actually what forms the zit. Many people, for instance, have a face covered in blackheads. These are clogged pores (comedones) in which the sebum or skin oil that was trapped has turned black. These are not blemishes, but merely blackheads. When bacteria gets trapped beneath the blackhead, that’s when the pimple forms.
If you’re ready to start getting rid of blemishes, here are some great tips for you.
  1. Try ice. Wrap an ice cube in something soft that will absorb much of the cold. Then hold the cube against a blemish or several blemishes. When you get a new pimple that’s still small, doing this can really reduce and stave off the swelling that should come. Hold the ice there for about 6 minutes.
  2. Aloe Vera. The healing properties of Aloe Vera! gel works wonders for some people. You can purchase over the counter tubes and jars that contain Aloe Vera, or you can break off a piece of a plant and rub the gel directly on your skin.
  3. When getting rid of blemishes and trying to improve the look of your skin, don’t forget the power of some natural ingredients. Honey, for instance, is a natural bacteria fighter, both in the mouth and applied topically. Take some honey and add some lemon for acidity. Daub this on pimples before you go to sleep, and you may be surprised at just how much they have faded by the next morning. Use the mixture daily at least once.
  4. Acnezine. Acnezine is an over the counter pill designed to help you stop breaking out. It’s unique from creams and other things because it works from the inside out. Take a pill every day and let it put your hormones into balance. The reason so many teenagers break out is because they’re in their prime hormonal imbalance years. Most girls won’t have another hormone imbalance until they get pregnant, and again when they go through menopause. It’s no coincidence that at both these times, many women complain that they suddenly have acne problems develop. There are other things within that can contribute to acne, like poisons and toxins from the things you eat.
