Getting Rid Of Zits Permanently And Fast

Adolescence is full of trials and one of them is the onset of acne. Where before, your skin may have been smooth and blemish free, the bodily changes associated with puberty may have created zits, blackheads and oily skin. It probably won’t help you much to hear, but almost everyone struggles with acne at one time or another. There are many ways of getting rid of zits, but your best bet is too try to prevent them in the first place.
How to Prevent Zits
Not all acne can be prevented, some people are genetically prone to them and may get them no matter what preventative measure they take. These people may need prescription medication to permanently get rid of their acne. However, for most of us it is possible to prevent most pimples and to get rid of the ones that do pop up quickly.
First and foremost, and this should go without saying, you must keep your skin clean. It is not necessary to wash with fancy, expensive soaps, in fact the things they contain may only block your pores more. Your best bet is an exfoliating soap. This will remove more dead skin and help to keep your pores from becoming clogged. Wash with hot water to open your pores and get the dirt out and then rinse with cool water to close them up again.
A healthy diet is important to keeping zits away. Avoid junk food, especially fatty of greasy food. Fresh fruits and vegetables will do wonders for your skin and your whole body. You also need to drink plenty of water. This helps your body flush out toxins which can end up clogging your pores if they are not gotten rid of.
Treating Zits
Even if you have done what you can to prevent zits, you may still end up searching for ways of getting rid of pimples, especially during puberty. Nothing works for everyone, but these things may help.
Acetone or alcohol can be used to dry up existing pimples. They can be found in some acne treatments but are really too harsh to use on all of your skin. They should be applied directly to the zit.
Many people swear by a dab of toothpaste as a method of drying up a pimple. It does in some cases seem to get rid of that pimple, but it may lead to other irritation in your skin as the chemicals it contains were designed to be used on hard enamel, not skin.
Lotions and creams containing benzoyl peroxide can be very effective. They work by killing the bacteria that cause most zits. It works best when applied immediately after washing.
Salicylic acid is another effective treatment. It keeps your skin from shedding too much dead skin. This dead skin often blocks the pores which leads to blackheads and pimples. It does not do much to cure current zits, but it does a good job of preventing new ones from forming.
Most often, getting rid of zits requires that you treat the ones you have and then prevent new ones from showing up. Create a personal hygiene plan, combined with a healthy diet, and the stick to it. You may find that your problems with acne are a thing of the past.
